Hanneke en Henk Meijer

Stayed from 23-07-2009 until 24-07-2009

Due to circumstances beyond our control we ended up staying only two days in Sue and Cees’ gite. Even so it is a heck of a long time since we can look back on two days in France with so much pleasure. The gite was within a comfortable distance from our home so that we could drive in one day. The gite was lovely and cool when it was very hot outside, it was very spacious, well equipped and had lovely views over the Burgundian landscape. The beds were good. What an exceptional welcome. We had the feeling that after our long journey, we had arrived home. Obviously with just two days restricted what we could do and see, but the toppers were: a beautiful church service at Taizé; the remains of the abbey in Cluny; the lovely quiet drives through the hilly Burgundy landscape and the delicious bottle of Champagne that you gave us for our wedding anniversary. That was a wonderful surprise. And with a glass of wine, Cees and Sue can certainly tell you about how they decided to move to France with all the pros and cons. Thank you both and maybe we will see you again at your lovely address.
